Running enthusiasts have two major events to look forward to as one race nears its starting line while another opens registration for its Manila debut.

The EastWest Dream Run Manila is set to kick off on August 2 at Filinvest City in Alabang, with organizers urging interested participants to secure their slots before race day.

The Manila leg serves as the opening stop of the EastWest Dream Run 2026, which has expanded to four cities after its inaugural edition in 2025 attracted around 14,000 runners, families and supporters across Manila, Cebu and Davao.

Participants can choose from 1K Dog Run, 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K race categories. Organizers said runners can also expect race-day giveaways and access to a race village featuring activities from various event partners.

Following the Manila race, the series will continue in Clark on August 30, before heading to Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro.

Interested participants may register through the event’s official website.

Meanwhile, women runners are being encouraged to prepare for the opening of registration for the Nike After Dark Tour Manila 2026, which begins at 12 p.m. on July 29.

The Manila race marks the Philippines’ first stop in Nike’s global women-focused night race series, which also includes London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Mumbai, Shanghai and Sydney.

According to Nike, registration slots for races in the tour have filled quickly, prompting organizers to encourage interested participants to sign up as soon as registration opens.

The Manila leg will feature a 10-kilometer night race beginning at Kilometer Zero along Roxas Boulevard. The route passes several landmarks, including Intramuros, the National Museum and Jones Bridge, before ending at the Quirino Grandstand.

Nike described the event as a space for women to run together regardless of experience.

“The Manila race continues that momentum, creating a dedicated space for women to run, connect and celebrate what they are capable of — whether they are chasing a personal best, signing up for their first 10K or making the night unforgettable with their closest friends,” the company said.

The After Dark Tour is now in its second year. Nike said its inaugural edition drew more than 50,000 women across seven races worldwide, with one in three participants joining their first race.

Aside from the run itself, participants can also expect a race village, exclusive Nike experiences and finish-line activities during the event weekend.
