
Filipina tennis player Alex Eala celebrated her historic WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) title win at the 2026 Mubadala DC Open by posting a video of herself dancing with her trophy.
The 21-year-old tennis sensation uploaded the video on Tuesday, August 4, showing her dancing with her trophy to Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain.”
“And other girls dreamed they’d be a WTA CHAMPION,” Alex wrote as a caption, modifying some of the song’s lyrics.
The original lyrics were, “And all the girls dreamed that they’d be your partner.”
Alex wore a yellow halter dress, with photos of her outfit uploaded on the social media accounts of the Mubadala DC Open.
“Serving first,” it said.
Meanwhile, Alex’s TikTok post has so far garnered 313,000 likes, 4,969 bookmarks, 6,731 shares and 2,415 comments.
“Love that this video serving femininity and winning,” a Facebook wrote.
“Thank you, Alex. After ni Pacman, ikaw na lang ulit pinapanood ko tuwing may laban. Sobra nakaka-proud maging Pinoy. Mabuhay ka,” another commented.
“Napakaganda, inside and out… product of your hard work! Congratulations, Inday Alex!! You deserve it,” a different Facebook wrote.
“‘Yung halimaw ka sa tennis court pero sweet baby girl sa totoong buhay. Congratulations, Alex Eala. Pinoy pride,” another Pinoy said.
Alex became the first player from the Philippines to win a WTA Tour-level singles title after defeating World No. 3 Jessica Pegula of the United States at the 2026 Mubadala DC Open.

She also dethroned defending champion Leylah Fernandez in the second round, ousted World No. 10 Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals, and defeated former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka along the way.
Alex climbed to No. 20 in the WTA rankings following her achievement, marking a new career high.
The Pinay trailblazer is set to shift her focus to her debut campaign at the WTA 1000 Toronto Open in Canada.
