WATCH | Giant cobra invades house in Malaysia

MANILA, Philippines – It’s a scene you wish you’d only see in the movies: a king cobra, about eight feet long, that creeps into a house and leaves residents and neighbors in constant fear and paranoia because they failed to capture the venomous serpent, which may come back anytime soon.

But no, it wasn’t a figment of one’s imagination. It did happen in the town of Batu Pahat in Johor, Malaysia.

The snake’s sneaky entry into the house of Derrick YiFan on Sunday, June 18, with its tongue going in and out its hissing mouth, was captured on video and posted on Facebook.

In the footage, the cobra is seen emerging from a shoe rack, slithering towards the main door, climbing into a small opening at the top, and finally entering the house through a gap.

“I heard voices outside and saw this giant snake,” writes Derrick in his FB post.

He later updated his post and said that the cobra could not be found. But a Facebook page called Viral Media Johor said the serpent had already been captured by firefighters.
