MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday denied knowing Daniel “Snooky” Cruz, who according to Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV was allegedly the one who had furnished the chief executive “fake” bank information that became the basis for his exposé against the lawmaker.

According to the President, the Snooky he knows is the actress, apparently referring to Maria Milagros Sumayao also known as Snooky Serna, and Snooky the comics character. It wasn’t clear if the other Snooky that Duterte was talking about was Snooky Wookums, the evil cat in DC Comics’ Krypto the Superdog.

Ang kilala ko lang si Snooky, ‘yong artista, pati ‘yong sa comics, sa totoo lang,” the top leader said.

Last Tuesday, during his privilege speech , Trillanes claimed Cruz had allegedly sold for P10 million the “fake” bank details to the Office of the President last August 31, which became the basis of Duterte’s accusations that the senator was maintaining secret offshore accounts.

Cruz’s Facebook page shows a photo him shaking hands with Duterte, both of them wearing barong.

According to Cruz, Davao-based businessman Larry Yap is his and Duterte’s friend.

Cruz and Duterte’s picture uploaded on August 31 by Cruz on his FB page had a caption that read, “The last time I saw the President was when he was still the Mayor of Davao City hanging around at our favorite hang out place…at the work desk of our mutual friend Larry Yap at his Felcris Super Store Grocery in Davao.”

But the President on Tuesday maintained that he didn’t know Cruz, adding that, “I will not spend even a single centavo for him.”

“He is not worth even piso,” said Duterte.
