19 ARMM LGUs get good governance nod

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Nineteen local government units in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao were awared the Seal of Good Governance by the Department of Interior and Local Government this year.

This is a far cry from none in 2015 and only six awardees last year.

The ARMM awardees are:


  • Buldon
  • Barira
  • Datu Abdullah Sangki
  • Datu Paglas
  • General Salipada K. Pendatun
  • Kabuntalan
  • Matanog
  • Parang
  • Rajah Buayan
  • Sultan Mastura
  • Sultan Kudarat
  • Upi


  • Maluso
  • Sumisip


  • Calanogas
  • Piagapo
  • Kapatagan


  • Jolo
  • Talipao

The towns of Kabacan, Mlang and Pigcawayan in Cotabato province, as well as the cities of Tacurong, Kidapawan and Cotabato also won the awards.

Winners are judged on financial administation, disaster preparedness, social protection and peace and order.

Aside from markers, the winning LGUs will also receive cash awards.
