Looking for something new to eat or sip? Several dining spots, food experiences, and deals are giving diners more options this week.

World Cellar turns Saturdays into wine nights

Wine lovers have another reason to look forward to Saturdays as World Cellar at World Kitchens in Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City, turns its previously monthly Wine Dinner series into a weekly affair.

The series pairs carefully selected wines with menus prepared by international chefs behind the dining concepts at World Kitchens.

The September lineup kicks off on September 5 with Jade Table by Chef Peng of 18 Jade, featuring classic Chinese flavors. On September 12, Chef Jessie Sincioco will present a special degustation celebrating Filipino culinary pride.

Chef Oliver Buenviaje of Seafood 8 by Olio’s takes over on September 19 with “Tide & Terrain,” highlighting flavors of the sea, while Chef Gale Tan Sun of Asador de Manila closes the month with “Vino y Fuego” on September 26, featuring Spanish cuisine.

The Wine Dinner series is part of World Cellar’s efforts to make wine culture more accessible, alongside its Friday Wine 101 classes.

With around 4,000 bottles across approximately 400 labels, World Cellar features wines from established regions around the world, with wine consultant CJ Juntereal helping curate its selection. The destination has also been recognized by Wine Spectator with an Award of Excellence for its wine list.

New spots to add to your dining rotation

If your usual coffee run or lunch order is starting to feel repetitive, several new restaurant and café options are giving diners more choices.

At Uptown Bonifacio, TGI Fridays brings its lineup of American comfort food, including saucy ribs, stacked burgers, wings, steaks and cocktails.

Over at Eastwood City, Ono Poke offers Hawaiian-inspired poke bowls that can be customized with choices such as shoyu tuna, miso salmon, and aburi. Diners can also choose from bases including sushi rice, brown rice, cabbage, adlai, quinoa and soba.

Those craving Chinese comfort food can head to Lucky Chinatown, where Shepherd Lanzhou Beef Noodles serves hand-pulled noodles in savory beef soup, along with dishes such as Big Plate Chicken and braised brisket.

Meanwhile, coffee lovers have new places to explore at The Shoppes at McKinley West.

Starbucks has a dedicated pet-friendly zone at its branch there, making it the only Starbucks location in the Philippines with a designated space for guests and their pets.

Yardstick Coffee, meanwhile, continues to build on its reputation for specialty coffee. The Manila-born roaster ranked No. 34 on the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026 and was the only Philippine café on the list.

KUBO Coffee Roasters offers another specialty coffee option, focusing on small-batch coffees and relationships with producers, including Filipino farmers, while featuring both Philippine and international origins.

From a Valenzuela kitchen to Filipino dining tables

What began in 1975 as nutritionist-dietitian Corazon Dayro Ong’s home-based preparation of skinless longganisa and tocino has grown into CDO Foodsphere Inc., one of the Philippines’ leading homegrown food companies.

Over the decades, CDO has expanded its portfolio to include familiar products such as CDO Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino and Idol Hotdog, as well as brands including San Marino and Highlands.

“From the products we started with in 1975, we have continued to listen to consumers and find new ways to respond to how Filipino families eat and live. That has meant developing new products, improving familiar favorites, and expanding into food categories that we would never have imagined when CDO first started,” said Patricia Marcelo-Magbanua, CDO’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications.

The company has also expanded its work beyond food production through the CDO Odyssey Foundation, Inc., which focuses on health and wellness, livelihood, education, and environmental initiatives.

Its programs include efforts addressing child malnutrition, livelihood support through CDO Kasosyo sa Negosyo, and environmental projects in the Sierra Madre.

Through the foundation’s environmental work, CDO has committed to reforesting and caring for five hectares in partnership with the University of the Philippines Los Baños College of Forestry and Natural Resources.

“Through OFI, we work with local communities, government agencies and partner organizations to understand what is needed and find ways where we can make a meaningful and lasting contribution,” Magbanua said.

CDO also said its manufacturing facilities are among the pioneers in green manufacturing, with one of the country’s largest solar rooftops and partial use of renewable energy.

Jollibee bags eight Philippine Quill Awards honors

Jollibee took home eight honors at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards, including two Awards of Excellence and six Awards of Merit.

The awards recognized campaigns spanning marketing, advertising and brand communication, special and experiential events, and digital communication.

Jollibee’s Awards of Excellence went to “Jollibee Kids Values Meal: Reimagining Mealtime as a National Platform for Joyful Learning” and “Jollibee GameJoy Combos.”

Among its six Awards of Merit were “1000 Kilometers of Joy: Jollibee & Natalie Dau’s Meaningful Run for a Cause” and “Bida Best, Bida Pinoy: How Jollibee Championed World-Class Excellence.”

The brand also received Awards of Merit for its #ChristmasJOYDay campaign, its “Bida Best, Bida Pinoy” experiential campaign, Jollibee GameJoy Combos, and The #JOYDelivered Christmas Delivery Campaign.

“For us, joy is not simply a brand message. It is something we want people to experience through the work we create,” said Dorothy Ching, vice president for marketing of Jollibee Philippines. “Whether we are helping children discover the joy of learning, giving Filipino talents a bigger stage, or creating moments that bring families and communities together, these recognitions inspire us to keep finding more meaningful ways to make a difference.”

The latest recognition adds to Jollibee’s recent industry accolades, including 11 awards at the 2026 Marketing Excellence Awards and recognition at the YouTube Works Awards Philippines.

P1 pizza? Yes, for a limited time

Pizza Hut Philippines is giving pizza fans another reason to celebrate the weekend with its P1 Pizza promotion.

From September 4 to 7, customers can get P1 Pizza with free delivery using the code “FREEDELPISO,” which the brand said can save customers P434 on delivery.

The offer is available for dine-in, takeout, and delivery, with orders available through Pizza Hut’s website, app, or hotline.

The promotion cannot be combined with other promos.

I’d recommend **keeping the title as “This Week in Food….”** and using the subheads to make the roundup feel editorial rather than like a collection of press releases. I also deliberately **didn’t preserve the press-release order** and placed the P1 Pizza deal last so the wrap ends on a lighter, consumer-friendly note.
