The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are bringing back old import Duke Crews in the middle of their Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign.

Rain or Shine (4-4) made the move after slipping to the lower half of the standings with Shawn Taggart leading the squad.

“Kailangan na naming gawin ito kasi yung import namin ayaw na maglaro. Sayang ang laki-laki. Dati OK eh, tapos biglang lalamya-lamya na parang ayaw na lumaro,” team manager Atty. Mamerto Mondragon told InterAksyon.

Crews is expected to arrive Friday.

The 6-foot-5 Crews played for the Elasto Painters in the 2011-12 season, averaging 27 points and 15.44 rebounds per game. He recently played in Indonesia where he helped lead the CSL Knights to a semifinal stint.

Crews will also be Rain or Shine’s import in the Governors’ Cup, according to Mondragon.

With three games left on their schedule, the Elasto Painters are hard-pressed to win their remaining matches and avoid falling to the seventh and eighth spots where teams face a twice-to-win disadvantage against higher-ranked foes.
