Chris Ellis has yet to see action for the Blackwater Elite almost three weeks since being traded by the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The high-flying forward was hospitalized for almost two weeks due to Leptospirosis. In his latest tweet posted on September 15, he thanked the Elite management for giving him time to recover.

According to Elite manager Johnson Martines, the team hasn’t heard from Ellis since then.

“He hasn’t returned my calls,” Martines told InterAksyon. “We don’t know his condition now. We don’t know how serious it is and we’re planning to write the PBA commissioner about this matter.

“We just want to find out what’s happening to him and what his condition is.”

Martines said that shortly after the trade last August, Ellis was able to attend one team practice where he was limited by severe cramps. The team manager added that the player was dehydrated and also suffered from food poisoning.

If healthy, Ellis will be a huge boost to the Elite who are now preparing for their playoff campaign in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup.

Ellis is among Blackwater’s newest acquisitions which also include Dave Marcelo and Allein Maliksi.
