Months after criticisms on her college records surfaced, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos avoided directly responding to them after it was brought up again in an interview on DZMM Teleradyo.

It was an episode of DZMM’s televised program “Ikaw Na Ba?” wherein Filipinos get to ask questions for senatorial aspirants of the 2019 midterm elections.

The question for her on the December 13 episode was: “Ma’am, once and for all, saan po ba talaga tayo nagtapos ng kolehiyo, sa Princeton University po ba talaga?”

Marcos avoided answering the question and instead diverted the topic to the scholastic records of her brother Bongbong Marcos.

“Yes, tama po. Talagang its the season. Talagang eleksyon na eleksyon na kahit na hindi pa nagdedeklara ang Comelec,” she said.

“Ginawa rin yan kay Bongbong at sa mga iba pang nakikilala natin. My record speaks for itself. Palagay ko performance man lang makikita naman natin, alam naman natin ang ginagawa at marami naman tayong natulungan,” she added.

Bongbong Marcos also maintained he’s a product of the University of Oxford and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. It was later found that he only received a special diploma at Oxford while he never graduated from Wharton.

The governor then went on to promote her platform of ending hunger and poverty as she will be running under the Nacionalista Party in the 2019 midterm elections.

Imee’s educational background

Screenshots of her grades during her enrollment in the Princeton University circulated on social media at the same month as the filing of the COCs for 2019 elections.

One copy showed all the courses for the school period from January to May 1976 have “F” marks on them.

Stripe her of her special treatment and privileges, and left to her own skills and intelligence, IMEE fails at everything from Philippines

To verify the photos, Interaksyon reached out to her camp for comment but got no response. The prestigious university was also emailed to inquire on Imee’s educational achievement.

Based on the previous report, Princeton’s email to Interaksyon revealed that Marcos did not graduate there, contrary to her claims on her Facebook account and now-deactivated website.

It was further confirmed that the eldest of the Marcos children did study there from the fall of 1973 to spring 1976 and the fall of 1977 to spring of 1979.

What she earned is a field or concentration called Independent Concentration in Religion and Politics. It’s only a major course of an undergraduate program. However, it does not correspond to an undergraduate degree.
