A Catholic bishop expressed hope that authorities will soon come up with a ‘comprehensive report’ on the case of a priest who was found tied and unconscious in his vehicle.

Fr. Leoben Peregrino of Imus diocese was found in Silang town on April 3, two days after he was reported missing.

His bishop, Reynaldo Evangelista, said the priest is currently recuperating in a hospital and “is now in stable condition”.

“The Diocese of Imus and the Peregrino Family trust the competence of various government agencies especially the Philippine National Police in charge of the investigation that they will come up with a comprehensive report on the matter,” Evangelista said.

Peregrino has been serving as Rector and parish priest of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of the Most Holy Rosary in Rosario town.

“We thank all the bishops, priests, consecrated persons and lay faithful for the prayers offered for his immediate recovery,” the bishop added.
