Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi is “going for gold” as she turned heads in her glistening outfit for a gala dinner attended by delegates and owner Anne Jakrajutatip in New Orleans, United States.
Pictures and a clip of the Filipina beauty were shared by the Miss Universe Philippines organization on Tuesday, where she was spotted wearing a dark gold sleeveless gown with a thigh-high slit.
A cream-colored fur coat with brown accents completed Celeste’s look.
According to MUPH, her gown was designed by Michael Leyva while Perry Tabora acted as the stylist.
“She is going for (sparkles) GOLD (sparkles),” the organization said on its Facebook page with emojis. Gold is also synonymous with the highest prize or medal in competitions.
“Our Miss Universe Philippines @celeste_cortesi draped in this beauty for tonight’s dinner event,” MUPH added.
The post has earned 26,000 likes and “love” reactions and 2,300 shares on the social networking platform so far.
MUPH also posted a Facebook Reel that featured a closer look at Celeste and her glistening outfit.
“Our Miss Universe Philippines @celeste_cortesi stands out from the crowd as they await the start of tonight’s dinner event,” it said with emojis of sparkles and a heart-on-fire.
Celeste’s look earned praise from fellow Filipinos, who thought she “nailed” it.
“Shades of gold look good on her… She’s nailing it. Wishing and praying the stars will align in her favor in the finals this Sunday…” a Facebook user wrote.
“Perfect look and elegance… She always did her best. Kudos sa stylist and of course, kay Celeste, kasi ang ganda [niya] magdala,” another Pinoy commented.
“Super beautiful lady in GOLD,” wrote a different online user.
Celeste is vying against more than 80 delegates to get the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown in its 71st edition.
The grand coronation will be aired on January 15 (Manila time) through different platforms.
