A sedan in Biñan City, Laguna drew criticism for parking in front of a gate clearly marked as a vehicle exit.

The concern was shared on Sunday, October 26, by the Facebook page “Parkeserye”, which cited a post from Biñan City Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) Chair Rommel Lim regarding the vehicle.

“Barangay Santo Tomas, Biñan. Owner ng Vios ‘yang inutil, siya na mali, siya pa matapang. Sobrang entitled, may pang airsus pero walang pamparking, hahaha,” the page said.

The picture showed a sedan parked directly in front of a gate with a sign that read “EXIT ONLY.”

Lim posted about the incident on October 23, saying it had been reported to him personally.

“Bilang paalala ay mangyari sana na maging responsableng driver,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

“Tipikal na problema ito sa iilang pasaway na driver, alam na EXIT, gaagwing PARADAHAN, kapag sinita mo, galit pa. Ganoon ba dapat kapag may sasakyan, Entitled sa Kalsada?” Lim added.

By October 25, Lim shared an update and responded to the alleged owner of the sedan.
The owner claimed he had not been approached by any establishment guard, contrary to reports that he had been asked to drive away.

Lim saw his post and responded: “He is proud, instead humingi ng pasensya sa hindi niya pagkakaintindi magbasa ng salitang EXIT.”

“Kada magbubukas ang LCC ng gate, andoon ang kotse. Ngayong inaksyonan ng POSO ay kumuha ng tagapagtanggol ito at gumawa ng malupitang ALIBI, bakit daw andyan ‘yan. Iba din,” he added.

Drivers, as holders of a license that is considered a privilege, are expected to observe road rules, including proper vehicle parking.

This includes respecting signage posted by establishments, particularly those relating to their property.

The Land Transportation and Traffic Code also prohibits parking in front of private driveways, specifically stating that “no driver shall park a vehicle within four meters of a driveway entrance.”
