MANILA, Philippines — Bank branches in Leyte and other provinces affected by Thursday’s 6.5 magnitude earthquake will maintain normal operations.
In an advisory issued Saturday, the Bankers Association of the Philippines said “member banks with branches in the provinces of Leyte, Cebu, Bohol and other nearby provinces shall continue to service the banking public while we endeavor to deliver normal banking operations particularly in the areas that were most affected.”
It said bank branches in quake-affected areas have been advised to continue “delivering … services to the general public and accommodate all banking transactions, most especially in this time of need.”
The BAP also advised its members’ clients “to visit their respective branches for assistance.”
