NEDA chief does not favor universal subsidies, removal of VAT to fight inflation

 The Philippines’ Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said he does not favor universal subsidies and removal of value-added taxes for certain commodities to combat inflation.

Speaking at a business forum, Balisacan reiterated the government was committed to addressing inflation, which is hovering at four-year highs.
