Kapuso actress Carla Abellana called on a food delivery service to investigate a rider who failed to deliver an order that had already been paid for.
On May 8, the showbiz personality revealed that a foodpanda rider had not fulfilled their paid order.
She also received a call from another supposed rider claiming he was delivering their order, but insisted they pay in cash, saying it was “COD” or Cash on Delivery.
“Huwow,” Carla said in a Threads post.
Chef and restaurateur Jacqueline Laudico also agreed with her sentiments.
“It’s been a recurring scam. I hope foodpanda_ph implements security measures right away,” she commented.
On May 11, Carla revealed that the app had already refunded her.
“But please, please investigate that scammer of a Rider,” she said on the platform with a folded hands emoji.
Food delivery service apps allow users to pay for their orders through COD or non-cash methods like a credit card.
Selecting a non-COD method means that the order will already be paid in advance before the user receives it through the delivery rider.
A COD method, on the other hand, means that the order will only be considered paid when the user has already received the item from the rider.
