The public can now request birth, marriage and death certificates, as well as CENOMAR, using an e-wallet app.

Reports said that GCash users can now request civil registry documents through the platform’s GLife feature, providing a more convenient way to secure certificates without visiting offices.

The initiative introduces the PSAHelpline Mini App within the GCash ecosystem, allowing users to request birth, marriage and death certificates, as well as CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) and CENODEATH (Certificate of No Death).

Users only need to follow these steps:

  • Open GCash, then go to the GLife section
  • Tap the icon of the PSA to access the PSAHelpline.ph
  • Select the certificate type you need
  • Authorize, fill up details, and confirm your order
  • Proceed with the payment and wait for your order

GCash is one of the most popular e-wallet apps in the Philippines, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, when cashless payments became more prominent.

PSA’s online service

Another way for the public to request certificates is through the Philippine Statistics Authority‘s (PSA) E-Certificate Service.

Citizens simply need to visit PSAHelpline.ph website and click the “Order Now” option.

They are then required to fill out a form, pay through various payment channels and complete the identity verification process.

The public can apply for a certificate online and may receive a digital copy on the same day.

The digital certificate can then be submitted to companies, schools, government agencies and other institutions. Once processed, it will be sent directly to the applicant’s email address.

PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa said that “issued certificates are authentic and carry the full legal weight of a traditionally issued document.”
