Batang Gilas stomps Thailand by 67 points to near SEABA U-16 sweep

The dominant Philippine national youth basketball team stretched its unbeaten streak to three games after a 113-46 demolition of Thailand in the SEABA Under-16 Championship on Wednesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Recaredo Calimag and Rafael Go exploded for 20 points apiece to carry Batang Gilas who is just one win away from completing a four-game sweep of the tournament.

Go also had 13 boards for a double-double.

After his triple-double output last outing, Mclaude Guadana finished with 16 points, three rebounds and six assists while Rence Padrigao added 13 points and eight assists.

Shaun Chiu and Raven Cortez scored 10 points each to round up the double-digit scorers for Batang Gilas.

The Filipinos, who are aiming for a fourth straight SEABA U-16 crown, will cap off their campaign against Malaysia, which is also unbeaten, on Thursday.
