BYGONES | 20 clans in Maguindanao town settle feuds

BULDON, Maguindanao — More than 20 clans in the town of Buldon, Maguindanao agreed to end rido, or blood feuds, some of these decades-old, with each other.

The “mass rido settlement” at the Barangay Dinganen Gymnasium Monday was witnessed by Mayor Abolais Manalao and Vice Mayor Cairudin Pangunotan, Maguindanao police director Agustin Tello, 37th Infantry Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Florencio Pulitor Jr., and Abdulrakman Asim representing Governor Esmael Mangudadatu.

The families that pledged to settle their differences and help restore peace and order in Buldon were: Diarangkal, Ali, Usop, Rangeres, Bauma, Musama, Sadam Magoraon , De Guzman Gamor, Abas Calacop , Bataga Gamor , Taha Mamacaog, Zaman Pisianan, Casan Aminodin, Faisal Cawi, Badrodin Abdul- Azis, Saranga , Ariman, Siriman, Dialona Tander, Sarican, Aragan and Kilat.

The officials then declared the town “rido-free.”
