MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck off the coast of southern Bohol Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
Phivolcs said the tectonic quake happened at 8:43 a.m. with its epicenter three kilometers from the town of Dimiao at a depth of 528 kilometers.
The United States Geological Survey measured the tremor at magnitude 5.
Phivolcs said no damage was expected but predicted aftershocks.
