MANILA, Philippines — Realizing that his job isn’t just about public service but also needs a lot of politicking, which makes him frustrated, Sen. Manny Pacquiao has started to think of ending his political career.
“Gusto kong madismaya, ma-discourage, gusto kong umayaw…Ganito pala ‘yong pulitika [It makes me want to get disappointed, discouraged, I want to give up…So this how politics is],” the 38-year-old boxing icon told reporters on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Pacquiao said he wasn’t good at politicking because he doesn’t enter into compromises and only pushes for what is right
“Hindi ako marunong mamulitika. Kung ano ang tama, ‘yon ang isusulong ko,” he said.
But he admits that he is dilly-dallying in his decision because he thinks that nobody would help the people if he says goodbye to politics.
“Gusto kong mag-resign. Pero kung umayaw ako sa pulitika, sino na lang ang tutulong sa mga tao?” said Pacquiao.
