Three contemporary Filipino visual artists featured at Parañaque art gallery

An art gallery in Parañaque City is currently showcasing three unique solo exhibits featuring Filipino contemporary visual artists’ works.

These include works of Mark Belicario, Ambie Abaño and Norlie Meimbam which are made from woodcut, acrylic and oil paintings.

Belicario is painter and member of Aroma Art Academy while Abaño is an architect turned visual artist. Meimbam, on the other hand, is a full-time visual artist, exhibit curator and organizer and also a muralist.

Art Elaan began presenting their works last Friday, July 7.

Contemporary artworks

Belicario’s “Rhythm of Life” featured oil on canvas paintings of the ocean, one of the most beautiful yet terrifying aspects of nature, and abstracts of people while making use of the ocean’s diverse shades of blue and green, among many other colors. Their prices range from P168,000 to P896,000.

The exhibit featured the following paintings:

  • “Aquaman (A07)”
  • “Duyan sa Alon”
  • “Aquaman (A02)”
  • “Broken Pieces”
  • “Ocean Sunset”
  • “Symphony”

Abaño’s “inhale exhale” showed the connection between man and nature through woodcut artworks of the human body and the tree with hues of black and white.

These works, woodcut on Japanese handmade paper mounted on canvas on board, are worth around P134,000 to P918,400.

Lastly, Meimbam’s “Multihued” featured the iconic works by Filipino and foreign artists throughout art history, namely Amorsolo’s “Lady with Banga,” Manansala’s “Planting Rice,” Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss” and many others, and repainted them in multicolored “pop” acrylic paintings.

They are worth P95,200 to P224,000.

The solo exhibitions are currently showcased at Art Elaan’s branch on the second floor of Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City.
