It’s time to explore Manila again and discover its old and new wonders. A must-visit destination is the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), which was recently inaugurated and slated to have a public opening by end of October according to the National Museum (NM).

NMNH, the nation’s first national natural history museum, will highlight the diverse flora and fauna of the Philippines. The museum features a grand structure dubbed as “Tree of Life” under an aluminum glass dome.

The works of prominent glass sculptor Ramon Orlina as well as the neo-classical architecture and interior design by Dominic Galicia Architects and Periquet Galicia, Inc. are among the structure’s attractions.

It was reported that private groups have donated around Php600 million to help finish NMNH, which used to be the Department of Tourism headquarters.

Although some parts will only be open to the public, completion of the building is still on its way, and is slated to have a grand opening by the end of the year.
