Disney finally released a trailer of the “Lion King” live-action remake and fans all over the world found it stunning.
The teaser featured the iconic opening scene in the 1994 animated film with the “Circle of Life” hymn.
The voice of American actor James Earl Jones, who will be reprising his role as Mufasa, was also heard in the first few scenes.
Jones’ speaking part in particular was welcomed by longtime fans who point out that he was the only man for the role.
Fans in the Philippines also joined in the worldwide anticipation of the upcoming movie.
Aside from Jones, Disney chose other celebrated actors and actresses to voice its roster of memorable characters. This includes Donald Glover (Simba), Beyonce Knowles (Nala), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar) and John Kani (Rafiki).
Rumors of the animated classic’s remake started swirling in 2016 months after the success of the live-action version of “The Jungle Book.” The latter’s director, Jon Favreau, was also tapped anew to direct “Lion King.”
Disney kept the production under wraps until the full cast was released last year. There are still no details of the new plot and its official musical scores.
The live-action “Lion King” will be released on July 19, 2019, which is also the 25th anniversary of the original film.
