A bride from Cebu was spotted fearlessly hopping on a motorcycle taxi to make it to her wedding on time amid the Sinulog Festival traffic on Tuesday, January 10.
The moment was uploaded in a now-viral Facebook post. The bride was identified as Jessica Marie Capul Lubay-Bunado.
The wedding was scheduled for 2 p.m. and the bride was supposed to walk down the aisle at 1:45 p.m.
The church reception was at the Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod SRP, just 9.5 kilometers away or a 30-minute drive from the hotel where Jessica was staying.
However, she got stuck in traffic as the participants of the Sinulog Mardi Gras were holding their rehearsals near the church on the same day, Jessica’s wedding coordinator Carlo Abaquita told Interaksyon.
He said that the bride left the hotel riding a bridal car around 1 p.m. but she was still on the road at around 1:45 p.m.
“Pagkapasok niya [bride] sa freeway parang stranded na kasi traffic. [Then] may nakita kaming Angkas and ayun pinara na namin,” he said.
Thankfully, Carlo said the bride made it to the church on time after braving the traffic.
Carlo’s post was adored by many social media users.
“Traffic cant stop hearts beats felt,” a Facebook user commented.
As of writing, Carlo’s post has gained 8,800 reactions, 280 comments, and 767 shares.
