Content creator Bradley (who goes by @bradleytries) posted a video of himself asking a crew member at Jollibee whether the store accepts Apple Pay as a payment method..

“Ma’am, may Apple Pay ba kayo?” he asked.

“Peach mango,” the crew member replied, apparently thinking he was referring to “Apple Pie,” a dessert snack widely associated with McDonald’s, another fast food chain.

“Ah, peach mango… uh, next time na lang, thank you!” Bradley responded.

“GCash na lang,” he captioned the video.

Bradley’s post has gone viral, garnering over 3.2 million views, 63,000 reactions, 5,400 shares and 1,100 comments.

It has also inspired other social media users to create posts based on the exchange and share it on different platforms.

The joke took off, with Jollibee itself joining in on the fun.

“Tama naman… Peach Mango Pie lang ang meron namin!” the homegrown fast food chain quipped in a post on Wednesday, August 5.

“Order now sa Jollibee or magpa-deliver using our app!” it added.

The post was accompanied by a graphic of the Peach Mango Pie, the chain’s signature hand pie filled with mangoes and peaches.

Bradley saw the post and reshared it on Facebook with the caption, “Joyful!”

He also tried the same tactic at McDonald’s.

Approaching the counter, Bradley asked, “Ma’am, may Apple Pay na po kayo?”

“Wala po… uh, taro,” the crew member replied, apparently thinking he was referring to the chain’s Apple Pie dessert and offering Taro Pie instead.

“Taro… uh, next time na lang, thank you!” Bradley said.

He captioned the video, “Awww, man.”

McDonald’s has discontinued its Apple Pie and replaced it with Taro Custard Pie and Choco Lava Puff.

The Taro Custard Pie is a hand pie with creamy custard and chunks of taro.

Meanwhile, Apple Pay was launched in the Philippines on Tuesday, allowing iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch users to make cashless payments without having to take out their wallets.

Apple Pay is a digital wallet service that enables users to pay for purchases using their Apple devices.

So far, the banks that support Apple Pay in the country include GoTyme, UnionBank, Chinabank and Metrobank.
