MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon and a low-pressure area off Samar will bring cloudy skies and rains to most parts of the country Thursday.
The LPA was last tracked 670 kilometers northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar early Thursday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. The southeast monsoon, on the other hand, is affecting the western section of Luzon.
“Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and possible occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning due to thunderstorm will be experienced over the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions, and Ilocos Norte, Zambales, Bataan, Quezon and Palawan provinces,” Pagasa forecast.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies except for isolated light to occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country,” it added.
The weather bureau said moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will make coastal waters of Luzon moderate to rough.
