MANILA, Philippines — A bill has been filed in the House of Representatives that seeks to earmark funds for the reconstruction of Marawi City, where fighting between government forces and extremist gunmen has been going on for more than three weeks now.

House Bill 5874, or the “Tindig Marawi” Bill, would allocate P10 billion to rebuild the Islamic city, capital of Lanao del Sur province.

Malacañang welcomed the filing of the measure, saying it complements a “Bangon Marawi” executive order awaiting the approval of President Rodrigo Duterte.
