MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Court of Appeals Presiding Justice Andres B. Reyes, Jr. as the Supreme Court’s 177th Associate Justice, replacing Associate Justice Bienvenido L. Reyes, who retired on July 6, 2017.
Justice Andres Reyes is a graduate of the Ateneo Law School in 1978. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Utopia.
He was shortlisted for an SC post in 2012 and 2008.
The new SC associate justice is a friend and colleague of the man he is replacing Justice Bienvenido Reyes. They had worked together in the Court of Appeals.
