BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The Office of the Civil Defense Cordillera and the local disaster risk reduction management councils of local governments in the region have been placed on alert after the Philippine Atmosphere, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration confirmed a low pressure area in the vicinity of Natonin, Mountain Province.
The OCD warned residents of the region against possible landslides and flashfloods that might be triggered by the occasionally heavy rains due to the LPA.
Pagasa said the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley regions, and Aurora province can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies apart from isolated rain showers mostly in the afternoon or evening.
