MANILA – Retired Justice Jose Catral Mendoza is nominated to replace Retired Justice Angelina Sandoval-Gutierrez, who had finished her term this July, at the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).
Justice Mendoza retired from the Supreme Court in August.
Malacañang has sent the nomination letter to the Supreme Court, addressed to Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Justice Mendoza, who is a fraternity brother of President Duterte at Lax Talionis, will be representing the retired justices at the Council.
He will be finishing his term on July 9, 2021.
