MANILA, Philippines — It will be a mostly rainy Wednesday throughout the country due to three weather systems with Albay province, faced with an increasingly restive Mayon Volcano, suspending classes at all levels because of the weather.
In its early morning advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of “possible flooding or landslides” in the whole stretch from Central Luzon all the way down to Mindanao — including the Bicol region — because of rains brought by the tail-end of a cold front and the trough of a low pressure area.
The Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera Administrative Regions will continue experience scattered rains but will otherwise see no significant impact from the prevailing northeast monsoon.
In declaring class suspensions, Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara cited the “orange” rainfall warning, meaning expected heavy rains, issued by Pagasa at 3 a.m. Wednesday.
