“Mahal kita” is one of the common Filipino greetings learned by foreign artists visiting the country, but for Kpop rapper Jessi what she picked up was a Filipino swear word.

On Friday, December 9 the Kpop star headlined the first day of the “Head In The Clouds Manila” music and arts festival.

During the music festival, the Filipino crowd joked around Jessi and taught her the word “p*t*ng**n* mo.”

The crowd cheered after Jessi unwittingly cussed thinking it means “I love you.”

“Does that mean ‘F*ck y**’? she asked the crowd.

“How come you guys teach me bad words?” she asked.

On Korean variety shows, Jessi is also known for her raw reactions and spontaneous cussing.

This hilarious interaction between Jessi and the Filipino crowd drew laughter online.

“BROO JESSI’S P*T*NG *N* MADE MY NIGHT!!!” a Twitter user said.

“JESSI I MEAN IM NOT SURPRISED THO BUT STILL,” an online user wrote.

“Just queen things…slay,” a Twitter user said

“Hanep ka talaga miii hahahahaha lakas mo,” a TikTok user commented.

“She can say it my face all day every day,” a social media user jokingly wrote with kneeling emojis.

Some online users also noticed how Jessi cussed like a local.

“BROOO HER PRONUNCIATION??” a social media user said

“Jessi a local,” a Twitter user wrote

“Filipino talaga si Jessi e hahahaha,” a TikTok user said.

She was also likened to social media personality Madam Inutz who is known for cussing, especially during live selling.

“Jessi in her Madam Inutz era,” a TikTok user quipped.

A few days after the concert, Jessi thanked the music recording company 88rising for inviting her to Manila.

“Thank you for having me @88rising” Jessi wrote on Instagram.

The Kpop star also penned a message to her fans.

“LOVE YOU MANILA!! But ya’ll need to stop setting me up and teaching me bad words and telling me it means ‘I love you’ til we meet again…@hitcmanila.
