Next week, beginning January 16, if you happen to step inside the elegant interiors of one of City of Dreams’ hotels in Manila or Macau, don’t be surprised if its well-dressed staff tells you, “Welcome to Nüwa!”

It’s because a new property has taken over the old Crown Hotel. Melco Resorts and Entertainment Limited, developer, owner, and operator of casino gaming and entertainment casino resort facilities, has announced in December the launch of Nüwa, its new luxury hotel brand that will debut in Macau and Manila next Tuesday.

In Chinese mytholigy, Nüwa or Nügua is a heroine and mother goddess. She is the sister and wife of Fuxi, the emperor-god; she created humans and saved the world from destruction. Nüwa, the hotel, exudes classic Asian refinement and luxury. Melco claims that the launch of the property is in preparation of the launch of phase III of City of Dreams Macau in the second quarter of 2018.

Lawrence Ho, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Melco Resorts and Entertainment said in a press statement, “We are excited to introduce NÜWA. The new hotel brand embodies the very essence of Melco’s pursuit to provide our guests the very best in sophistication, quality and innovation.”
