Jameel McKay delivered a monster 20-20 game while RJ Jazul stepped up big time for the Phoenix Fuel Masters who rallied from a double-digit deficit to beat the GlobalPort Batang Pier, 84-72, in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup Friday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

McKay tallied 22 points and 20 boards while Jazul poured in 21 points to help Phoenix improve to 4-5.

The Fuel Masters notched the win without star rookie Matthew Wright who is loaned to Gilas Pilipinas that will see action in the SEABA Championship next week.

Stanley Pringle topped all scorers with 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists, but GlobalPort slid to 2-6 as it also missed the services of Terrence Romeo who, like Wright, is currently with the national team.

Phoenix stared at a 15-point deficit in the second quarter, but snatched the lead after the third frame, 57-55, behind the hot hands of McKay who scored 13 in the period.

The Fuel Masters extended their lead after a 10-0 run early in the fourth frame. Jazul then made huge baskets down the stretch to keep GlobalPort at bay.
