Henry Walker pulled down a huge 30-30 game to lead the Blackwater Elite to a tough 111-106 double overtime win against the struggling Alaska Aces in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Walker tallied 35 points and 32 rebounds while making huge baskets for the Elite (3-3) which booked a franchise-best three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, the Aces (0-5) slumped to their fifth consecutive loss in the conference and 13th overall dating back to the last tournament.
Blackwater led by as many as 14 points but Alaska fought back behind LaDontae Henton who finished with 31 points and 10 rebounds; and Jvee Casio who tallied 25 poitns and six assists in the game.
Simon Enciso’s floater tied things up at 91-all with 22 seconds left which eventually led to the first extra time.
Both teams just can’t shake off each other in the first overtime which ended at 97-all.
Casio and Mike Digregorio exchanged big triples down the stretch in the second overtime, with Blackwater taking a 107-106 lead with a minute remaining.
Henton then missed a triple from way beyond the arc, forcing Alaska to foul Blackwater. Roi Sumang hit two freebies, and with the Elite just up by three, 109-106, the door was open for Alaska to force another overtime.
But Chris Banchero’s three-pointer clanked off the rim. Walker sank two charities to seal the win for the Elite.
