A picture of theater performer and singer Rachel Alejandro earned buzz online for her perceived resemblance to former vice president Leni Robredo.

The veteran performer on Sunday shared a side view photo of her enjoying the beach on her birthday with the following caption, translated into English:

“Thank you, everyone, for the birthday greetings! Many kisses from Puerto Rico!”

Rachel also added the hashtags “#birthdaytrip,” “#thankful” and  “#beachholiday.”

Her picture has amassed 32,000 likes and “love” reactions, 25,000 shares and 3,500 comments so far, with the majority of online users claiming she looked like Leni from that particular angle.

Several of them flooded the comments section with puns related to Leni.

“#LetLeniLead,” a Facebook page commented with emojis of a grinning face, a flower and hearts. The comment has earned 1,300 reactions.

“Leni Robredo multiverse! Happy Birthday, Ms. Rachel,” another Facebook user wrote.

“Heto na ating pinuno, handa nang magsun-bathing,” quipped a different Pinoy, referencing one of her campaign songs during the 2022 presidential elections — “Kay Leni Tayo.”

“Lakas maka-Leni,” another user commented.

“Mapagpala at mapagpalayang kaarawan po! #KayRachelTayo #AngatGanda,” quipped a different Filipino, referencing campaign phrases associated with Leni like “Kay Leni tayo” and “Angat Buhay.”

Meanwhile, here are some recent pictures Leni shared:

This was not the first time Rachel earned buzz for her perceived resemblance to the former government official.

In 2021, a selfie of Rachel in Palawan went viral when some people thought Leni was vacationing and not working.

Leni quashed the false speculations and assured the public that she was in her office in Quezon City. She also apologized to Rachel for being tagged in the false claims.

The theater performer responded by saying that some people have been commenting she looks like Leni.

“Basta ‘pag may movie tungkol sa buhay niyo, may idea na kayo sino ang puwedeng mag-portray,” Rachel commented before with a tongue-out emoji.

“I don’t believe we’ve properly met but let me use this opportunity to thank you for all that you do,” she added.

Leni once again apologized and said she was “flattered” that she was being likened to Rachel.
