An adorable dog in the Philippines earned fans overseas after a video of him was featured by a US-based publication.

NowThisNews, a New York-based media outfit, posted a video of a pug named Goku on its Facebook page on March 6.

Goku is owned by a Filipino fur-dad named Dionisio Daligdig.

“He’s so spoiled and maybe he thinks he’s human and needs to be fed with a spoon,” Daligdig was quoted as saying in jest on the post.

In the video, the voice of Daligdig could be heard trying to coax Goku to eat on his own.

The pug, however, refused to eat and just stared at the food.

“Ayaw mo kainin? Hindi mo gusto? Ah, gusto mong susubuan?” Daligdig said.

The video earned 366,000 views, 8,400 reactions, 1,100 comments and 1,200 shares.

The reactions were also positive wherein 4,800 were laugh emojis, 1,900 were heart emojis, 1,699 were likes and 167 were care emojis.

Because the video has no English translation, some fur-parents had various interpretations about Goku’s eating habits.

Some find the dog cute and adorable.

“They’re so adorable & just like children,” an online user commented with love emoji and GIF.

“What a cultured dog…” another commented with heart eyes emoji.

“Teach him how to hold that spoon. So cute,” another online user said.

Others claimed Goku is spoiled and commented about spoon-feeding.

“Is this cute? Maybe once. But spoon-feeding a dog twice a day feels more like the dog trained you…,” a netizen commented.

“This is a human problem not a dog’s problem. Pugs are one of the most food crazy dogs, I have ever met. They love food,” a Facebook user said.

“That is wrong, imagine something happens to the owner, what then? That dog has to eat by himself,” another Facebook user commented.

Others felt sorry for the pug. They said that he might be having breathing problems when he eats from the bowl.

“It’s probably because he has a hard time breathing when facing downwards to eat the food from the bowl,” one Facebook user said.

“Probably struggles to breath when he eat,” another Facebook user said.

Others shared that their own pugs would have eaten the food already.

“My pug would have inhaled that entire bowl in about .06743 seconds,” one Facebook user commented with laugh emojis.

According to the American Kernel Club, a dog breed reference website, pugs are characterized by their small yet muscular build.

Pugs also normally eat a lot and are prone to obesity.

“Pugs live to eat and are prone to obesity, so watch your dog’s calorie consumption and weight level,” the website reads.
