Two days after her sellout concert at the Mall of Asia Arena, American pop icon Britney Spears took to social media to pay tribute to what she considers the best audience of her ongoing “Piece of Me” tour to date.

In a post on Twitter and Instagram on Saturday, Britney posted two videos apparently taken from her June 15 concert in the Philippines.

Prior to her Manila concert, Britney performed in Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Taipei. Her Manila concert, made possible by Wilbros Live and presented by Smart and Bench was a full house affair as the singer delivered an elaborate show that consisted of seven acts and 23-songs highlighted by her greatest hits including a medley of her earlier signature songs, “…Baby One More Time” and “Oops I Did It Again.”

Also included in her well-received set were classics like “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” “Stronger,” “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Boys,” “Me Against The Music,” “Toxic,” ‘Do Somethin’,” “Gimme More,” “Piece of Me,” “Break The Ice,” “Womanizer,” “Work Bitch,” “Circus,” “Scream & Shout,” “If You Seek Amy,” “Slumber Party” and her encore number, “Till The World Ends.”

Not a few, however, wondered if Britney lip-synched her songs rather than singing them live. The singer has been reported to lip-synched her performances in the past and even in her present tour. During her Manila show, several fans have observed through the giant video screens on each side of the stage that her lips were not always in sync with what she was singing.

That hardly mattered to most of her fans as the 35-year old mother of two delivered a visual spectacle characterized by several changes of skimpy outfits that not only punctuated her well-toned physique but also enhanced her breathtaking dance moves. Although she had a much shorter walkway compared to Madonna when the latter performed here last year, Britney was still a sight to behold as she and her equally talented dancers pretty much commanded everyone’s attention throughout her show.

Fans were so happy with Britney’s overall performance that they continue to sing along to her old hits like “…Baby One More Time” and “Sometimes” even on their way out of the MOA Arena as reported by US-based Billboard magazine.

Britney herself was impressed by this united display of devotion. She expressed her appreciation in a tweet that accompanied a video taken by CNN Philippines.

Next stop for Britney Spears is Bangkok where she is scheduled to do a two-night show on June 23 and 24. Given that that’s still almost a week away, there’s a good chance she may still be in the Philippines although it is unlikely that she has remained in Metro Manila.
