MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Electric Co. will increase its rates by seven centavos per kilowatt-hour this month, or an average of P15-38 a month depending on consumption.
The utility said this is because of an eight-centavo increase in the generation charge because of the peso’s weakening against the dollar.
