SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao — Authorities have launched a manhunt for the s men who tried to set fire to a Catholic chapel in Barangay Labo-Labo in Shariff Aguak town, Maguindanao Friday night.

Fire Officer 1 Alonto Blaim, Shariff Aguak fire marshall, said local police and fire personnel have leads that could eventually lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects in the attempted arson of the San Isidro de Labrador chapel.

Blaim said witnesses narrated how the still unidentified arsonists poured gasoline on the chapel’s altar, where they had placed religious statues and articles, around 9 p.m. Friday.

The arsonists gained entry by forcibly opening the cyclone wire covering one of the windows of the chapel, which is just beside the national highway. (with a report from Dennis Arcon, InterAksyon)
