Miss International Philippines 2025 Myrna Esguerra paid a courtesy call on Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya and his wife, Endo Akiko, at their residence in Makati City on Tuesday, October 21.
The visit was part of Esguerra’s preparation for the upcoming 63rd Miss International beauty pageant, which will take place on Nov. 27, 2025, at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The couple shared information about Japan’s culture and traditions and discussed the close relationship between Japan and the Philippines, especially as both countries prepare to mark the 70th Anniversary of Japan-Philippines Friendship in 2026.
The meeting concluded with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony led by Madame Endo, giving Esguerra a hands-on experience of one of Japan’s well-known cultural practices.
Moments during the courtesy visit were shared by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines on Facebook.
“All glammed up for (Japan flag emoji)-(Philippine flag emoji) cultural exchange on the international stage!” the post reads.
Ambassador Endo also wished Esguerra success in the upcoming pageant.
“My wife and I were delighted to meet with Binibining Myrna Esguerra, the Philippines’ representative for #MissInternational2025! Wishing her great success as in (Japan flag emoji) she represents the (Philippine flag emoji) in one of the biggest beauty pageants in the world. 頑張ってください!” he wrote.

Crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2024, Esguerra will represent the Philippines in the Miss International pageant this November.
Before her departure, a send-off event will be held on October 28, for Esguerra. Family, friends, and members of Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) will join to extend their support and well-wishes as she prepares for the competition in Japan.
