CLARK FREEPORT – Ten brand new units of Genesis Transport Service, Inc., started ferrying passengers starting Friday (Sept. 15) from the Clark International Airport for various destinations in Metro Manila.

Dubbed point-to-point (P2P) bus service, the first in Clark, it will initially cover Clark-NAIA Terminal 3 via Robinsons Galleria and Resorts World in Pasay City; and Clark-Trinoma, North EDSA (vice versa) to make it convenient for Clark passengers.

“This is a project that is intended to do connectivity, mobility and to ease traffic in this part of the country,” said Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, who was the guest of honor and speaker during the launching of Genesis (P2P Bus Service) here.

In Clark alone, Tugade said the DOTr intends to open at least 12 P2P Bus Service destinations by the end of 2017. He said Clark will be the center of transport service in this part of Luzon.

“Yung ruta ngayon ay Clark-North Edsa; Clark – NAIA Terminal. Soon to open is Clark-Lubao (Pampanga); Clark-Dagupan City (Pangasinan); Clark-Subic (Zambales); Clark-Malolos City (Bulacan); Clark-Tarlac City; Clark-San Jose City (Nueva Ecija).

Genesis is the first bus company granted by the DOTr a franchise in this Freeport, and the first P2P Bus Service and first franchise to service passengers connecting two airports – CRK and NAIA; and also the first in Central Luzon.

“The launching of P2P marks Genesis [Bus Transport Service. Inc.] in the history of land transport service,” said Rely Jalbuna, Genesis operations manager.

Genesis is also the franchise holder of 48 routes under the P2P program of the DOTr, it was gathered.

Tugade ordered the adoption of the P2P concept to the provinces in an apparent move to solve the major gridlock in Metro Manila. For more than 20 years, the DOTr had imposed a moratorium on the grant of provincial bus franchise.

The first P2P bus service is expected to service the stakeholders at Clark that regularly travel between the Freeport to Metro Manila.
