WATCH | Flash Mob Alert: American choir performs Coconut Nut inside plane’s passenger cabin

Flash mob performance by the Baylor University Men's Choir inside the Emirates plane's passenger cabin.

The Baylor University School of Music’s men’s choir recently gave an impromptu rendition of a number from its repertoire: our home-grown composer Ryan Cayabyab’s novelty song The Coconut Nut.

What set this flash mob-like performance apart was that it was performed inside a plane’s passenger cabin. The 75-member choir delighted fellow passengers and the flight crew, especially, for whom they expressed appreciation for a great flight.

The song, popularized by Cayabyab’s group Smokey Mountain, was a hit in the 1990s. Its choral arrangement has also become widely popular, with performances by choirs all over the world.

The video uploaded by Emirates Airlines on YouTube has only logged nine million views, so far.
