WATCH | 1M suspected TB cases in country

MANILA, Philippines — There are an estimated 1 million cases of tuberculosis in the country and the prevalence of the disease has also increased.

These were the findings of the National Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey, which said incidents of the disease had spiked to 554 per 100,00 population last year from 322 per 100,000 in 2015.

The Department of Health noted that few people seek treatment for TB and the agency has allotted P1.4 billion to combat the disease, the fifth deadliest in the county.
