Nineties and early noughties love team Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban are firing up the internet with their kilig-inducing interview on “Gandang Gabi Vice” and recent social media posts.

Last Sunday, they appeared on Vice Ganda’s weekly talk show and surprised viewers with their revelations, particularly Angelica herself.

Vice was asking about the duration of their past offscreen relationship when the actress quipped that she and Carlo truly loved each other.

“Feeling ko mahal naman namin ang isa’t isa eh,” she said to the comedian with seriousness. When Vice asked her if they still love each other at present, Angelica shocked the audience and answered, “Oo naman!”

The video has since been watched more than a million times on YouTube.

The tandem also appeared on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” last Monday and did a “Truth or Dare” challenge.

Old flames

Carlo and Angelica used to be romantically involved with each other. They met in 1999 through the youth-oriented television series “G-mik” and played the role of sweethearts.

Their romance eventually turned from “reel” to “real” but they broke up around 2005 and Carlo shortly courted Camille Prats.

However, it didn’t turn out well and CarGel came back together for one year. They parted ways for the second time around in 2007. It was only recently that Angelica shared the break up was because of fellow Kamapilya actress Maja Salvador.

Carlo and Angelica were eventually reunited after 11 years. Their longtime fans rejoiced when a teaser of an independent romance film featuring them circulated on social media.

They are the stars of Dan Villegas’ “Exes Baggage.” He is the same director behind romcoms “Walang Forever” and “English Only Please.”

“Exes Baggage” tells the story of two individuals who meet each other by chance. They develop a bond that easily turns from warm friendship into deep attraction.

The teaser’s release was enough to put Carlo and Angelica on the spotlight once more. It is currently showing on cinemas nationwide starting September 26.

The appeal of their nostalgic tandem didn’t end there. Their respective social media posts suggest that a sincere reconnection has been established since their recent onscreen reuniting.

Angelica also greeted Carlo on his birthday with a message that made their fans’ hearts aflutter.

She also took care of his cat when he went to Thailand for a work commitment, updating him on his pet’s status through quirky Instagram Stories.

The actress also hung out with his parents, offered them pizza and gave them a tour of her house.

In an interview, Angelica revealed that she only agreed to appear in “Exes Baggage” because of Carlo despite her regular tapings for “Playhouse,” her latest television series.

Apparently, she never commits to two different projects at the same time.

“Saka never ako gumawa ng soap and movie na sabay. Ngayon ko lang siya ginawa kasi ayokong mawala ‘yung project na kasama siya,” the actress shared in another interview.
