Actor JC de Vera shared that he got offended when he first met actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga during a project.
In an interview with Stanley Chi on One News PH’s “Long Conversation” last November 15, the actor fondly remembered when he first met the actress after transferring to TV5 in 2010, where he joined the sketch comedy program “Lokomoko.”
He recounted how Alex asked him about the sunglasses he was wearing during an out-of-town shoot.
“First time kong makilala si Alex Gonzaga. Hindi ko siya kilala personally, pero since makakasama ko siya sa isang show, nakilala ko na siya,” he said.
He continued, “’Yung first few taping days namin doon, nag-out-of-town shoot kami. So, naka-shades ako na pula… Tapos tinanong niya ako, ‘JC, original ba ’yang shades mo?’”
JC admitted that he was initially offended by Alex’s question but eventually realized it might have been her way of being friendly and starting a conversation.
“Parang siguro, mga ten to fifteen minutes, parang na-hurt ako na tinanong niya ako nang gano’n… Pero inisip ko na lang na baka ’yun ang way niya for being friendly.”
He said that while he was offended, he responded that his eyewear was authentic.
The actor mentioned that he worked on other projects with Alex after this incident.
These included the iWant original movie “Everybody Loves Baby Wendy” in 2019 and the Netflix film “The Entitled” in 2022.
