After making waves on YouTube in 2014 with her “Twerk It Like Miley” video and being signed as a Kapuso star the year after, Kim Domingo has made quite a name for herself through different ventures: as a sexy star, a recording artist, a model and a magazine cover girl.
The 22-year-old French-Filipina bombshell, who recently released “State of Undress,” a photo book containing her most provocative photos, also ranked second on this year’s FHM’s 100 Sexiest poll and is included in YES! Magazine’s list of 100 Most Beautiful stars, under the Sizzling Hot category.
In an interview with InterAksyon during YES! Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful Stars recent media launch, Kim revealed that posing for “State of Undress” came easy for her.
“Ever since yung image ko kasi-pasexy, so medyo hindi na ako talaga nahirapan sa shoots. Kumbaga, very confident na rin ako. At siyempre yung mga ka-trabaho ko rin na photographer, sobrang gagaling. Hindi na ako kinakabahan pag dating sa ganoong bagay. At very happy ako kasi nung autograph signing, ang daming pumunta and ang daming bumili ng book,” she said.
While the sexy star is completely comfortable in her own skin and has no qualms revealing it, she hopes to be recognized for reasons other than her beauty and amazing physique. Kim is gearing up for yet another milestone: to be recognized as a serious actress.
Kim’s acting credits include being a mainstay on “Bubble Gang” and major roles on “Juan Happy Love Story” and the recently concluded “D’Originals.” She will soon begin taping for “The Good Teacher,” a comedy-educational show to be headlined by Marian Rivera. She will be playing Marian’s sister—a kontrabida—in the show.
In an industry where stars assume a sexy image and take on daring roles just to prove that they can transcend their tweetums personas, Kim is doing exactly the opposite. Although being a sexy star and cast in comedy shows have definitely done wonders for her career, Kim claims that she is in the process of shedding her sexy image and slowly transitioning to meatier yet less provocative roles.
She explains, “Ganoon yung ginagawa namin ngayon. Medyo unti-unti nang tinatanggal. Kasi siyempre hindi naman habang buhay, alam mo yun, puwedeng magpa-sexy. Siyempre gusto kong matawag na aktres. Pag hindi ko kasi tinanggal yun, ang tatatak lang sa isip ng mga tao, si Kim Domingo, pas-sexy lang. Gusto ko yung unti-unti nang tanggalin.”
Kim goes as far as to say that her dream role is the inverse of the strong, sexy personalities she has been known to portray. “Gusto ko yung inaapi ako, gusto ko ako yung kawawa. Heavy drama talaga,” she said.
