Sometimes, sleep becomes a luxury for some people due to various factors such as socioeconomic pressures and digital hyperconnectivity.

However, sleep quality can still be improved by engaging in relaxing activities before bedtime.

According to VeryWell Health, an online health and wellness resource, individuals should break negative associations with their bed, such as wakefulness, tension and anxiety to improve sleep.

It added that people should get out of bed if they are unable to sleep after 15 to 20 minutes of lying down.

Individuals who have trouble sleeping are advised to try reading, gentle stretching, meditation, guided breathing exercises, solo games or puzzles, adult coloring books, or listening to relaxing music.

Meanwhile, they should avoid watching television, using devices that emit blue light, frequently checking the time and eating or drinking anything other than water.

The online health resource suggested choosing relaxing tasks over stimulating ones.

It added that setting regular bedtimes and wake-up times, exercising regularly and avoiding daytime naps could also improve sleep habits.

Comfortable sleep

Kyle You, country director of Comfort Living Philippines, said their company aims to help Filipinos sleep more comfortably through its products at affordable prices.

“We see luxury, you know, not fancy clothes, not watches, not jewels. It’s [the] luxury of being able to have a good night’s sleep,” You, also the founder of the company, said.

He explained that buying mattresses at a low cost a decade ago was difficult, which inspired him to start the business.

The company has also introduced new product lines, including orthopedic pillows, a smart desk, a smart bed, a hybrid spring mattress and a cooltech gel memory mattress.

Orthopedic pillow variants include bean, Chinese neck, butterfly, hybrid cervical, wedge, hybrid regular, gel regular and gel contour.

You said the company guides customers in choosing the right product for their needs through a series of questions.

He added that they deliver their products nationwide, with some deliveries taking as little as one hour in certain locations.

Comfort Living Philippines was established 13 years ago and operates exclusively online.
