Renowned author Paulo Coelho took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his Filipino fans for their support.

“Thank you, Philippines!” the Brazilian novelist tweeted on Tuesday, January 10.

He also tweeted a photo of the Philippine flag.

Coelho’s first tweet, meanwhile, was accompanied by a 55-second video showing a Filipino crowd scrambling for Paulo Coelho Box Set.

The staff was also seen throwing the box to the unstoppable crowd.

Based on the poster in the video, it appears that the video was taken in 2018 during the Big Bad Wolf book fair in Davao.

Pinoys’ excitement for Coelho’s books

Some social media users who saw the video posted by Coelho were amused at how Filipinos got excited for books. They noticed that many fought hard to get the books.

“Amazing! I’ve never seen such excitement over a book,” a Twitter user said
