A Japanese carmaker announced its shift to using electronic invoices (e-invoices) and electronic receipts (e-receipts) in its transactions.

Toyota Philippines said it is going digital by making all its invoices and receipts electronic starting July 1, pursuant to regulations issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

“All transactions will be automatically sent to the registered email address and the myToyota app upon completion,” it said in an announcement.

“Toyota expresses their utmost appreciation to their valued customers for their usual support and understanding,” the car manufacturer added.

On its website, Toyota said that the e-invoice and the e-receipt are digital versions of the official invoice and Official Receipt (OR).

“Instead of manually issued printed documents, invoices and receipts are now generated electronically in compliance with BIR regulations,” it said.

The car brand said that it is still recognized as a valid invoice and may be electronically provided to its customers via the email addresses they provided during their transaction.

“Please ensure that your email address is accurate and updated,” Toyota said.

The e-invoice and e-receipt can also be accessible via the myToyota app, if they have one.

The car brand said that a printed copy may be provided depending on the transaction and the dealership process.

“However, the E-Invoice sent electronically serves as your official digital invoice,” it added.

The car brand said that its e-invoicing efforts support the government’s digitalization initiatives and aim to improve transaction efficiency, reduce paper consumption, and provide customers with faster, more convenient access to their invoices.

Toyota is among the most popular car brands among Filipinos.
